Pictures from Alaska Well, as promised, here we go!

Here we are, on our way to our first plane and my daughter's first flight ever!

This is at Mendenhall Glacier. It was so stunning here. I could have spent a whole day. In the background you can see a tiny bit of the glacier.

A closer view. The air here is so vibrantly clear, and the water just as much so. Pollution does not yet mar Alaska's beauty.

My daughter dipped her fingers in the water. In her own words, "IT WAS COLD!"

Closer view of the glacier.

Ok ok ok. A rare view of this author and two of her reasons for living.

This is at the camp where we stayed. We were in Berner's Bay, Echo Cove. What can I say about this picture. Words do no justice. Neither does the picture, to be honest.

Just a random snapshot of beauty.

This is about a mile further in from the camp. I loved the way the setting sun gilded the waters of the creek. I was on horseback.

This is Lion's Head Mountain. It was my wakeup view each morning, and the last thing I saw before falling asleep each night.

Alaskan sunsets are majesticly stunning. When we first got there, the sun set at 10:45. Each day Alaskans lose 6 or so minutes. It was a noticeable difference as we left for home on Monday.

Another 'common' site while we were there.

Our last stroll along the beach before we headed for home. My daughter cried. She said she was no longer Pennsylvanian, she was Alaskan.
